Erie grew from about 18,000 people in 2010 to just over 30,000 in 2020, and most of that came from new master-planned subdivisions like Colliers Hill, Vista Ridge and Erie Highlands. Historic Old Town along Briggs Street is the older core. Erie Community Park sits in the middle of town and the Coal Creek Trail runs south toward Lafayette. The town straddles Weld and Boulder counties.
